Textile design for the Council chamber & Wedding hall | Provence of Bronckhorst

With only 150 inhabitants, Bronckhorst is the smallest city of The Netherlands. The city rights date from 1482. In this period Gobelins where created to put on the walls of large homes and castles. In this manner people could show off their fortune and used the wall hangings to display their personal heritage and the heroic stories of the era and neighbourhood they lived. Also Bronckhorst has a rich history and has a beautiful authentic ‘Dutch coulisse landscape’.

We drove through the landscape and photographed remarkable buildings and checkpoints that are illustrative for the Provence of Bronckhorst. Next to that we also captured natural and man made structures that together stand for the tactile part of the Provence of Bronckhorst.

By combining all these elements we created a fictive modern coulisse landscape into a jacquard woven wall hanging for the wedding hall ( ‘Zaal de Kroon’ ). This jacquard, woven at EE Exclusives is made from wool, linen, cotton and lurex.

This wedding hall is connected to the Council Chamber. To make this connection more visible, we took a structure from the wall hanging that is based on reed.

Starting from a rigid structure in the Wedding Hall, the reed grows substantial in size and eventualy fills the floor of the Chamber Room as free monumental shapes .

Skies of Utrecht | Provence of Utrecht

The provence of Utrecht (The Netherlands) consists of beautiful nature and many historical buildings. Together with designer Lotte van Laatum we photographed the icons of this provence and designed a 32 meters long wall hanging, called ' Utrechtse Luchten' (the skies of Utrecht). This work of art was produced at the Textile Museum Tilburg and placed in the commission room of the Province Hall of Utrecht.

Rug collection '(Un)Fold' | Karpeta

The technique of pleating inspirered us to design a rug collection for Karpeta. Pleating is mostly used within fashion to construct silhouettes or create a beauty in movement. We love this aesthetic way of creating texture. It deserves focus and dedication to be executed in the right way.

This fashion technique translated in to an interior product, adds a sense of movement to a room. We combined yarns that have a difference in luster and constructed the pleats in multiple directions. This combination of ever changing daylight together with the beholders point of view, makes that we’re experiencing the carpets in multiple different ways.

We were commissioned by Kino Rotterdam to create custom made upholstery for their seatings and alcoves. This historical cinema in the city of Rotterdam ownes a beautiful foyer with a well balanced material- and color scheme.

Interior design coffee bar | Nine Bar

After 15 years coffee bar NINE BAR decided it was time for a change and we were commissioned to design their new interiour. Our focus was to create a light, modern and recognisable interior that breaths the innovative feeling of the city of Rotterdam. By accentuating the architecture of the building with colour and materials, this tiny space
(36 m2) still feels airy and sophisticated.

Trendbook '15 | Desso

For Desso Carpets Studio Tomorrow designed a custom made trendbook, focussed on their special product department. Therefore, we researched their history, clients and competitors, next to all developments going on in this niche market. By combining the right images, text, textures and colour schemes, our trend forecasts are future proof. They inspire design teams for creating their new collections.

Carpet Collection 'Frozen Colours' | Desso

We created a carpet collection ( axminster & print) for Desso's Hospitality, Marine and Aviation department. This collection is based on on of our themes of our Desso trendbook 2014. These prints are used in hotels and ships. Therefore we make sure the designs are suitable for the different area's of these hotels/ ships. For example the cabins, restaurants and corridors.

Scarf collection 'Undiscovered Wonders of The World'

A collection inspired by Celtic, Norwegian, Indian and Greek ancient stories. Every design is an unknown mysterious world, open for multiple interpretations.
